Worker Falls Off Mini Billboard

Mini_Billboard.jpg

While everyone's bitching about Crispin Porter + Bogusky taking on VW and dumpimg Mini, Random Observations points to a billboard for Mini at the entrance of the Hollan tunnel that's quite good. Granted, it's the agencies last work for the client but the board, which shows a 3D image of a worker, apparently, falling off billboard scaffolding and into the Mini does grab attention.

Those little Target-branded cars have been making their rounds. This past weekend they were spotted at Boston's Quincy Market. The tiny, little cars are emblazoned with the "target" and roam the country in search of ogling consumers.

Models Nipples Oddly Erect on Transit Poster

bus_poster_erect_nipple.jpg

While we're quite sure this wasn't planned, this advertiser might want to consider asking the transit company to reposition its bus poster a bit lest the advertiser be accused of overexciting its models during photo shoots.

AutoTrader's Dirty Bitches Offend

billboard_090905_232.jpg

John Brock points us to a billboard for AutoTrader in Auckland that was pulled. It seems several had a problem with the copy which read, "We've Got Rides For Dirty Bitches." Without seeing the accompanying image of two dogs (commonly referred to as bitches in Auckland) looking out the window, one might understand how it might offend but no. The whole thing's been depicted as some kind of woman-bashing campaign and the Advertising Standards Authority has requested the billboard be taken down. AutoTrader has complied with the request.

Court TV 'Parco's Watching' Campaign Expands

parco_5_150.jpg

Accompanying the recently launched online game for the upcoming Court TV show Parco's Watching, San Francisco-based Venables Bell has created additional campaign elements including posting on ATM machines, in laundromats, on bathroom mirrors and on bar coasters along with taxi tops, bus posters and wild postings. The phone kiosks have slogans that say "Because Vinnie Parco was watching, I went from successfully cheating on my wife to living with my mom." The bar coasters say things like "Would you want this conversation you are having to be overheard?" The work can be viewed here.

Maria Sharapova Delivers Canon PowerShot

DSC01726.JPG

In a unique street posting, caught on camera by Bucky Turco, Canon has created an interesting, 3D-like wallscape that shows tennis balls embedded into a brick wall as if Maria, herself, was in the middle of the road whacking balls into the bricks. Affixed to the wall, along with the images of tennis balls, are stickers that say, "Maria was here. Canon PowerShot." Very creative if we do say so ourselves. See another image here.

Abercrombie & Fitch Erect Giant Bulge

abercrombie_crotch.jpg

Spotted by our ever vigilant Bucky Turco next to the Prada store on 5th Avenue in New York City, Abercrombie & Fitch has erected a huge billboard in the form of a jeans-clad gentleman sporting what many might find to be a nice package. The doorway into his crotch is a nice touch too.

Jockey Guys Sits Up For Ladies

jockey_sit.jpg

In response to our equal opportunity post about the Bench Body billboard which we felt would be of interest to our female readers, New Zealand reader, Jacqui suggests another. Jacqui says Jockey is running a campaign, part of which is a giant billboard showing a six-packed guy doing sit ups just as he does on this website here. Enjoy.

Ad Postings Encourage Graffiti

2.JPG

Today, Bucky Turco was walking down the street and noticed a new ad for New York Sports Club. It was a series of wild postings in groups of 4 that said "________Better" and were accompanied by various images supporting the copy that was printed but looked like it was written in with marker. They copy read: Oh my God Better, Scram Better, and Play Better.

One of the spaces was blank so Turco decided to write in BLOG Better just for fun with a marker. Turco wonders if this could be construed as breaking the law by defacing property paid for by an advertiser and also wonders whether advertising that encourages people to interact or write on it, could classify the writing as graffiti, an art form many consider illegal. Certainly, it's a gray area yet encouraging people to interact with advertising can have it's benefits.

Big Bench Body Billboard Begs

bench_body.jpg

Since way too many Adrants stories feature scantily clad women in ads begging people to buy stuff, we thought we'd give a proper nod to our sizable female readership and share this outdoor board for Philippine fashion label Bench Body.
