Axe Sympathizes With Men's Efforts to Get the Girl

axe_flirty_girl.jpg

So a couple of days a ago, we featured one of the new BBH-created ads for Axe. It was called Brainy Girl and it was all about a guy doing what a guy needs to do to get the girl. Today, we have four more ads in the campaign to share with you.

Each ad follows a similar theme. And an interesting one from a brand that has always been about women fawning over a man who's only girl-getting effort centered on wearing an Axe product. These new ads focus on the need for guys to actually expend some considerable effort before they are allowed...ahem...inside. Hmm. Much like it is in real life. Who knew a brand like this would ever come close to mirroring the actual trials and tribulations guys must go through to land the girl?

Skittles Makes It OK to Touch A Zombie, A Werewolf and A Boob

skittles_princess.jpg

Skittles is out with another collection of Touch the Rainbow oddities which, again, ask you to place your finger on the screen so that you can touch things you normally wouldn't touch. Previous iterations of the campaign, created by BBDO Toronto, won a Cannes Gold Lion in Film and Cyber last year.

This round gives you the chance to tickle a werewolf baby, poke a Sasquatch, go finger to finger with a zombie, take out the eye of a cyclops doctor and fondle a princess's boob until she decides to kiss you.

Not that anyone is actually going to touch the screen but we like the pseudo interactivity of the campaign. The brand has carved out a nice niche for itself. A very weird one but a nice one none the less.

If You Can't Get Siri, There's Always Vlingo

vlingo_grandma.jpg

OK so if you have the new iPhone, you have Siri. But what if you don't have the new iPhone? Or no iPhone at all? Well that's where Vlingo comes in. Vlingo is a virtual assistent for those who aren't cool ebnough to have the new iPhone.

VML has produced a series of videos to promote the product. Check out a compilation of them all right here. It's about the furthest thing from an Apple ad which, of course, is a very good thing since this is the furthest thing from an Apple product.

Hipsters Get Their Own YouTube Channel

american_hipster_max_movie_reviews.jpg

Really? Really? A YouTube channel called America Hipster? The channel will undoubtedly become a characature of itself by episode three. Seriously. Does anyone knowingly want to be labeled a hipster?

Hey, we could be wrong. The channel debuts with three shows, American Hipster presents - video portraits of American trendsetters, Max Movie Reviews - movie reviews by digitally manipulated babies and Hipster Grandmas - pop culture commentary by America's first hipsters, old people. Shit, that covers just about everything from hipster cradle to hipster grave.

Not All Boobs Are As Nice As Kate Upton's

carls_jr_nyquil_spoof.jpg

You know how dreams twist reality? Now imagine having a dream about Carl's Jr. One might assume it'd be a pretty hot dream complete with images of you motorboating Kate Upton's huge boobs or having sex with Paris Hilton sex tape-style. Got those images in your head now? OK, now stop reading unless you want to ruin everything.

Still here? OK. You asked for it. AdamRayTV decided to create a Carl's Jr. spoof...and put it inside a Nyquil ad. Twisted? Definitely. Funny? Pretty much. A little gross? Most certainly.

As Always, Axe Will Get You Laid

axe_brainy_girl.jpg

If only it were this easy. Actually, sometimes it is. Yes. Guys will go to great lengths to get in the sack with a girl. Especially a hotter-than-she-knows-it girl sporting a pair of "I'm really, really smart....and really, really dirty" glasses. Damn. Since when did chicks with glasses become so hot?

What to Do After Your Tennis Career Ends

andy_murray_head.jpg

I don't know. Not all that excited about this Head Tennis video featuring Andy Murray who imagines what sort of career he'd have if he wasn't playing tennis. I mean it's funny and all but there's something nonsensical about it. And the tie in to the raquet isn't very string. But hey, if you're a tennis fan or just like Andy then maybe you'll like it.

Why Cats Love Columbia Sportswear

columbia_cat.jpg

Here's a collection of some of the strangest ads we've seen in a long time. To put it's outerwear through a series of tests, the brand has employed the use of hot dog buns, a five bean salad and a cat. Watch as the oddity permeates your soul and you wonder why you aren't running out to buy a Columbia jacket right this very moment.

Miller 64 Revives the Sea Shanty

miller_64.jpg

We don't drink beer very often but when we do...oh wait. Actually we really don't drink beer that often which is probably why we are not familiar with Miller 64. What's the 64 all about anyway? The year it was brewed? The number of calories it contains?

Anyway, we're not here to analyze the actual product. Only to comment on the product's advertising. And after the attention-grabbing camera slide up the hot body of a beautiful, bikini-clad woman, the ad had our full attention.

The ad features a sea shanty-style song that hypes the glory of a fit and trim lifestyle as well as celebrates the usual camaraderie found in the perfect life known as a beer commercial.
