Coca-Cola is in a bit of hot water over a bilingual promotion in Canada which resulted in "You Retard" being printed on Vitaminwater bottle caps. The bottle cap was found by Blake Loates whose sister, Fiona, has cerebral palsy. Fiona's father, Doug Loates was angered and wrote a scathing letter to Coke.
In the letter, Loates wrote in part,"The R-word is considered a swear word in our family. What would YOU do if you opened up your bottle of Vitamin Water and on the bottom of the lid it read, 'YOU RETARD? I bet you'd be pissed if you had a Fiona in your life! ... Can you imagine if SHE [Fiona] had opened this bottle???"

Well this one's going to sting for life. After finding out her daughter lied about sleeping over with friends at an older boy's house, the girl's mother placed four One Direction tickets she had bought for her daughter and some friends for sale on eBay.
And she didn't just place them on sale. Accompanying the ad was a scathing letter publicly chastising her daughter for her behavior. While punishment in this case is likely warranted, doing so publicly is questionable. Yes, it sent a strong message to the daughter but does she need to be scarred for life for committing a "crime" her mother basically admits to doing herself when she was a kid? Or at least that the mother's friends did when they were kids. Of course, this doesn't make what the daughter did right.

In New Zealand, Royal Caribbean has launched what it claims is the world's first Instagram film festival. Created by Hulsbosch and Circul8, a campaign leading up to the festival will encourage people to film and hashtag Instagram videos which represent "wow" moments.
The InstaFilm Festival, as it's called, invites people to upload their "wow" moments using Instagram's video feature via the hashtag #InstaFilmFest. Passengers, friends and family can also vote on their favorite short film captured anywhere, anytime not just on board a Royal Caribbean cruise.
Those films receiving the most votes will be celebrated at a special VIP on board screening event to be announced for February 2014. An expert panel of judges to be announced late 2013 will choose the winners.
