I Am Legend Hits New Media with Elements You've Seen Before (Including Will Smith)
Two things we're tired of: people building special sites for the iPhone (why? Why would you?), and movies about Will Smith saving the fucking world.
In tangent with Crew Creative, Warner Bros. is dredging out advertainment to iPhone and Second Life for I Am Legend, where Will Smith, the last man on earth, must try to find a cure for a zombie-making virus. Or something.
It's not everyone who can live out splendorific fantasies as often as Will Smith can. He gets to play a supernatural secret agent, rescue the country from aliens (twice!), embark upon a successful no-profanity-needed rap career, woo swooning women, and he even got to be the classic poor-guy-makes-good.
Now he gets to save the world from zombification? Is there anything you can't do (besides curse), Will?

I enjoy the occasional Will Smith flick, but the whole no cursing thing always makes me laugh. He stood up at music awards and whatever and made his big claim, "And I don't curse."
Woo hoo, Will.
Then I saw Bad Boys...and Bad Boys II.
Let me bow down to the guy breaking the mold of success.
Oh no he didn’t.
I will not see this movie for one reason: the filming of it stopped me from completing my early morning walk through Washington Square Park a couple of times.
FYI, it's vampires. Not zombies. I'm a dork.
Forgot to mention that he also played the greatest boxer of all time in Ali.
Will Smith is my favorite celebrity candy. I feel a mild disgust at most of the big names and their presence in a movie has no effect on my choice to view or not. WIll Smith is the exception, I will happily choke down whatever he has done (Wild West...cough gag). I have to admit that I haven't seen the Bad Boys movies because I am repelled by Martin Lawrence who is the black version of Ben Stiller: whiny, self-important, plays the same character no matter what the role. Marketing wise, I immediately sit up and take notice whenever I find out about his involvement. Smith, that is, not Lawrence.
The other thing to consider is that I AM LEGEND is a remake of a remake of an adaptation. Vincent price starred in the first film version, Last Man on Earth, and Charlton Heston kicked ass in the Omega Man. Why mess with a classic?
