Head-Up-Their-Ass Marketers Shove Product Up Ass
Back in the day, people scoffed at the practice of parting with cash to acquire a bottle of water, a product readily available free from any faucet. Now, water, a product which costs its makers next to nothing to produce, is standard fair in convenience and grocery stores the world over.
An alien visiting from another planet might think this paying for water thing is one of the most illogical of all observed human behavior but he would be wrong. Until he observes humans paying $40 for a bottle of Bling H2O marketed by none other than the ubiquitous bare-assed, sex-sells hottie, he won't have a true understanding of how the human race has "evolved" since his last visit.
While our alien might hypothesize anyone marketing a bottle of $40 water must have their head up their ass, the ad will certainly confirm that assumption quite clearly.

Why is no one getting the point that bottled water has only recently started to supplant tap water. What it has actually supplanted has been the use of sodas that were the only portable option for liguid intake not too long ago. Now we have a healthy option. I'm not in favor of landfill fodder but this is a good thing. It's only bad when the use is gratuitous - like the sex in the ad you're mentioning.
The true test of head-in-ass syndrome will be the number of people who shell out the cash for this. Michael, I hate to disagree but this has nothing to do with finding healthier alternatives. It's all about image and another example of a society with screwed up priorities.
The true crime here is nothing short of stupidity. Bling H20 represents capitalism at its best. The same reason why so many around the world hate us. Altering the words of Peter Griffin, "while I don't agree with what your doing, I'll defend to the death your right to do it!" You can't blame Bling for the American peoples stupidity.
I have to say, if you pay $40 for a bottle of water and you're life isn't in danger, you are stupid. Stupid!
"Now we have a healthy option."
Michael, ever heard of a canteen? A Nalgene bottle? Water has been portable ever since the Greeks built aqueducts.

HAH! This brand is so upscale that they use osCommerce-- a free ecommerce software package.
Didn't they have the bling to pay for something better?
