Panasonic Makes Crappy Ad, Calls It a Viral
You'd think in a medium made largely successful by teens recording themselves dancing in their rooms or ghostriding the whip, that major brands would naturally thrive. But this wannabe viral for Panasonic Viera's He Didn't See That Coming campaign reminds us all how they fail again and again.
You can't use corny ad shticks, remake them on a shoestring budget and call it viral media. And what are we - five? We're supposed to laugh at a fat guy covered in elephant jizz? Ha ha. No.
Way to sell a Viera, guys. Oh, and that spit-polished website at your guerilla campaign URL? Nice touch.

Couldn't agree more. The website is so over-the-top.
What can't be shown on TV goes to the web. That's not viral. It's an online ad campaign.
Horrible. Not funny. Trite. Expected. Offensive. Embarassing.

At first glance I misread the post and thought I saw the word ‘Viagra.’ Sad thing is, it probably would’ve worked better for that brand.
Even more lame, the person who posted the video on YouTube works for the company that created it... just follow the bread crumbs...
Worst ad ever.
What "change agent" at Panasonic let this one fly?
I was shocked by this sleazy "schoolboy stunt". I initially watched it with family members. How would you explain it to your little girl?
I wrote to the MD at Panasonic, he apologised unreservedly and assured me that the ad would be removed! Well done to everyone else that had the moral fibre to complain. You know, it seems that today, the boundaries of good decency don't exist anymore. Hats off to Mr Wood at Panasonic for realising their mistake and correcting it.
Why is the world like this?
Take a look at
1 Timothy 3:1-5 and Romans 1:24-27
Peace to you
