Three Teens And A Dude Explain Pen Top Computer
Fly, a sort of Leap Pad for teens, has launched a site to promote the pen top computer which, when used with special paper, can do all sorts of cool things according to the three teens and one dude featured in several videos on the site. We're not sure if it was the cute Asian-ish girl or the very natural sounding video clips that kept us on the site for far longer than is normal for us but whatever it was, this site just seems to do a great job explaining the product in a very conversational tone that doesn't sound forced. Why we'd need a pen top computer, we're not sure but we seem to have the urge to go buy one now.

Clearly, there are confusing aspects regarding the combination of the words fly, top and pen. Of course, that's probably just my idiocy but I corrected the link, nonetheless.
Wow.... yet another agency that clearly bs'd their way to a big client budget with a "look how cool this technology is" pitch. There is no value in this site if you are on an even average connection. Not sure who did this, but is sux.
I thought the site was a bit much when I first went there after my daughter got one for her birthday. It was loud and difficult to navigate, and they changed my mouse pointer to one of their pens, IIRC. All no-no's in my book. They're cute but not functional and even my 10 year old would rather have functional.
They are great for the 9-12 year old age group and my daughter, 10, loves hers. My only gripe is how expensive the accessories are.
if they would just shut up for a second maybe I would have spent some time trying to figure out why i need this thing. instead they drove me away with all their yakking.
That's just it ... no one really *needs* it, but it is cool for kids.
We got ours the first week they were available in stores and we hadn't seen any of the advertising or web site before seeing it in the stores. My daugther was sold on the coolness of all the things the packaging said you could do with it. The web site really doesn't do the product justice and I think it will drive parents, especially, away.
