Road Trip + Twitter = Roadtwip
Twitter has inspired everything. It's changed the way people communicate. It's become a marketing platform. It's become a direct marketing channel. It's lent credence to the notion "conversations" can actually occur between a brand and a person. And...it's given us Oprah whether we like it or not. So why not a road trip? Or, rather, a Roadtwip.
Oh yes. Much like iPhone's "there's an app for that," there's an app for anything and everything you want to do with Twitter. Why not a road trip app? OK so Roadtwip isn't actually an app, rather a physical road trip during which three people hop in a car and, for two weeks, traverse the country "seeking the emerging future for a new America."
Apart from the comical combination of tech buzz word overload and political puffery, this just might be an adventure worth watching. Why? Because...wait for it...there's a "Social Catalyst" along for the ride! Yes, LA-based Kurt Deradics of FreedomSpeaks will be on hand as will Tech scene photographer and Christian music lyrics site owner (now there's an interesting combination) Jonathan Dingman.
Also along for the ride is Jolie O'Dell, an up and coming ReadWriteWeb tech journalist and video blogger who is obsessed (obsessed, I tell you!) with all things geekishly social and tech-related. And yes, she is ReadWrite...Red.
We've seen these three in action. While they are seeking some sponsorship for this Roadtwip, we're sure, sponsor or no sponsor, these three will give us a great ride and uncover some hidden geektastic gems along the way.
Follow their shenanigans on Twitter: KurtyD, Dingman and JolieOdell.

Thanks for the write-up Steve!
We are *REALLY* *REALLY* excited for the trip.
Just this morning I finalized another meeting in Nashville for my Christian lyrics website and it's going to be just an AMAZING #roadtwip.
Meeting so many awesome people along the way and really getting to see the country side, it's going to be totally RADICAL!
I feel left out of the twitter craze, and now they want to add more "apps?" This happened to me with facebook. I was all content with it the way it was, and then everything changed! Now before I can even jump on the twitter bandwagon a new "app" is being made for it? I'm slow.
OMG! Thanks for the write-up, Steve!
I can guarantee you that the admixture of the sublime and the ridiculous in the press release (wink, wink) will continue through the vids and other stuff we post while on the trip.
Exciting things are happening on an hourly basis. Windows Mobile is sending me a badass device; we're trying to hook up a massive RoadTwip party in NYC; and then there's the BIGOmaha conference in Nebraska, right in the middle of our 3000-mile loop.
If it were any more sublime or ridiculous, it'd have to be a movie.
=)
We'll keep you posted, and thanks again for the shout-out!
Steve- Thanks for the shout out. I can only imagine the fun we're going to have. Stay tuned~
