Politically Correct, Sexually Closeted Attitude Causes Urinal Removal

Leave it to the politically correct, sexually squeamish mind of an American to become so offended by those red-lipped, mouth-shaped urinals in a Netherlands McDonald's, the person's complaints caused the owner to remove them. Yes, we Americans are, for the most part, an oversensitive bunch so caught up in our fervent desire not to do anything that might remotely cause bad vibes for a person or a particular group of people, we read negativity into almost everything. The designer of the toilets, Meike van Schijndel, said the toilets were designed to be cartoonish and not represent a woman's mouth. Of course, way back in 2004 when they first appeared at New York's JFK airport, we didn't know how to react either.

I'd say I have to agree with your original post: "As a guy, do you really want the temptation alluded to with these urinals when you are simply trying to empty your bladder?"

And the American Puritanical streak runs deep, even to the point that Jon Stewart (not generally regarded as a right wing evangelical) was having great fun at the expense of what we here in the States saw as Vladimir Putin's inappropriate behavior, whereby he lifted a child's shirt to kiss his stomach. Putin even had to defend himself.

But we are talking about the Netherlands here, a country that features prostitutes in windows.

The conversations probably start something like this:

"Daddy, why does the toilet look like a whore's mouth?"

"That's funny you should think so, son. I see it as the Rolling Stones logo."

Even when this urinals are terrible, i think that the tourist saw what he would liked to. To me, they are Ronald's mouth and nothing about a sexually matter.
