This SXSW coverage is brought to you by Red Square Agency. The agency that also brought you magic tricks!
As we prepare for SXSW which kicks off this Friday, we're wading through the thousands of possible panels, events, exhibits and other activities to attend. We thought we'd share a little bit about what we plan to do while in Austin. And plan is the operative word here. If you've ever been to SXSW then you know your plans can (and do) change at any moment. But for now, we hope to attend these panels.
The Power of Visual Storytelling. This panel will take a look at how brands and individuals can use storytelling to build their brand.
Integrating Brands Into Social Television. This panel will examine how Facebvook brand pages and Twitter handles have become second screens to the television viewing experience.
How Brands Build Advocates By Anticipating Needs. This panel will explore how brands can use digital technologies to take a proactive approach to customer service and offer customers unexpected gestures that demonstrate how much they care about their customers.
The State of Social Marketing. A fast-paced look at the most important three changes in sopcial marketing and how they will shape the creation of marketing strategies for brands.
Social Media Is a Bubble and SXSW Is a Fad. Now this one sounds like a lot of fun. The panel will argue we are in a bubble. A social media bubble. and that there is a whole lot of irrational exuberance in the room. The panel will trash SXSW a bit claiming it's a cultural event that isn't grounded in analytics, results or research.
How to Be Strategically Unlikeable Online. With a somewhat misleading title, this panel is actually about what brands can to do become more likable. By pointing out how unlikable some brands are, the panelists will offer tips on how to turn the ship around and become more likable.
Social Media Comes of Age Without the Help of Porn. Perhaps you've never realized but just about every innovation online has been led in some way by the porn industry. But that does not seem to be the case with social media. The panel will examine how individuals have fueled social media with the sharing of their non-porn addled love for brands.
How to Harvest Consumer Intent from the Social Web. This panel will teach attendees how they can tap into the p[lethora of online commentary to determine consumer intent.
What's So [Bleeping] Hard About Social ROI? Ah, yes. ROI. That elusive troll in the corner that ruins everything. Or at least makes it really, really difficult to determine what worked and what didin't. This panel will tell us how to keep that troll inline and easily determine ROI from your social media efforts.
Social Flubs: Can Bad Publicity Be Good? Seemingly stolen from the long running Suxorz panels led by BlogAds' Henry Copeland, this panel will take a look at social gaffs and explain how brands can avoid them and learn from the mistakes of others.
So that's a short list of what we're planning to attend in terms of panels. Later, we'll share with you the parties and other events we plan to attend.
