Kellogg Separates Phelps from its Special K.

michael-phelps.jpg

From Kellogg: "Michael's most recent behavior is not consistent with the image of Kellogg. His contract expires at the end of February and we have made a decision not to extend his contract."

How fickle is sponsorship. You win all those golds and everybody loves you, then you smoke one joint* and those self-righteous cereal-peddlers won't even look you in the eye.

Budget problem escape clause?

How could Kellogg's have been surprised? This guy's such a stoner you can literally see the weed coming out of his head.

Booooo to Kellogg!!! I will now boycott all Kellogg's cereal for craving the munchies!

this is just funny to me. It is sooooo true - everyone loves the guy winning gold medals, until they know he smokes a little. Drugs are bad mmmmkay....

This isn't going to help the sales of their Frosted Hemps, Ganja Bran, and Reefer Krispies cereals.

Yes, truly ironic considering the many thousands of pot smokers who use Kellogg products specifically to quell their post-toking hunger pangs.

But, hang on, isn't this a bit of a diversionary tactic? What's this...? Kellogg products ALLEGEDLY (that's for the lawyers) may make consumers distinctly more ill than they would be from smoking pot??

They're involved in one of the biggest industry-wide product recalls in U.S. food history - all because of dodgy peanuts:

Phelps is a moron. Unless he needed a toke to control his ADDHD, the only time he should get loaded is by himself, in a closet or in the middle of a hay field, at 3am. Last I heard pot is illegal. Until that fact changes, boo-hoo. Bad judgement on his part and smart move for Kellopp's.

Kellogg’s general Olympic sponsor status ended in 2008 anyway. Makeing Phelps a scapegoat since they might not be taking part in 2012 anyway? Takes focus off them.

he may be a moron, but he only posts his shit once.

expecting a 20 year old to be a noble brand champion is moronic, yo. and why do we keep turning to athletes for role models? since babe ruth sports has been a haven for drug and alcohol abuse. ask any athlete starting at age 14 or so.

and if everyone who eats Kellogg cereals when they get the munchies actually boycotted the company, they'd have to bring him back and make him CEO
