GoDaddy Throws Massive Fete...
... to celebrate a record year amidst so much suckage.
Down to crash it? Hit Chase Field in -- wait for it -- downtown Phoenix. It all goes down Saturday. If you're lucky enough to know an employee, you'll be flown in and put up in a plush hotel, all expenses paid. 4000 people are expected, all of which will be showered in food, drink and gifts.
No word on if Danica's beaver will make an appearance. But the company is expected to kiss away at least $2 million on the shindig, and they'd like you to know they're hiring.
This is the type of LOOK-AT-ME!-ism I'd normally ridicule, but I'm indebted to GoDaddy for something its Twitter monitor, @godaddyguy, did for me recently: he caught me complaining about a GoDaddy URL renewal that was automatically charged to my credit card, then chased me down and offered me a full refund -- by phone and via email.
So now I love them.
"I learned a long time ago, if you treat your people right, the rest takes care of itself," preached CEO/Founder Bob Parson, who added, "Why shouldn't we celebrate a little this year? We have a 45% market share of new domain names worldwide and are growing in every area of our company. Our people deserve a party."
Cheers to a 'net co. that knows how to work the 'net.
