Type UFO in Google Earth to Find, if Not the Colonel, The New York Times
Some YTMND.com ("You're the man now, dawg!") user made a subsite titled "Type UFO in on Google Earth to Find This" to show people that, when they type "UFO" into Google Earth, they'll see the face of the KFC Colonel at 1 Old Mill St. in Nevada.
I always thought there was something funky about that chicken. All those legs in a bucket just never seemed natural.
I downloaded Google Earth to see if the outrageous YTMND claim was true. Typing "UFO" brought me to a bunch of random places in Europe. When I typed "UFO" into "Find Businesses" under "Nevada," I got Area 51 and other conspiracy theory points of interest, as well as, oddly enough, little ad icons for The New York Times.
Maybe I just didn't try hard enough. But come on. It's not like I ever claimed the Colonel was a well-rounded dude. Depressing, yes. Human? No.

I concur -- I tried it in my pre-existing copy of Google Earth and had the same failure.
In other words, the "YTMND" post is wrong, or at least highly selective, and therefore this AdRants post has no reason for being...
