After Just 13 Months Nike Splits With Crispin Porter + Bogusky
Well that was quick. Nike has ended its relationship with Crispin Porter + Bogusky after just over a year. George Parker broke the story and tipped us here at Adrants. The story was then picked up by Advertising Age which reports the 13 month relationship yielded but a single TV ad with Nike exploring relationships with other agencies such as 72andSunny. Nothing like treading water for 13 months. Time to get back in the game, Nike.

Are we really surprised? What does this say for their prospects with Microsoft?
Do you think Nike is realizing the grass isn't always greener...and W+K saying aww shucks we know you strayed, we know you cheated, that's ok...but can you get tested first?

No surprise. But, the press release will say CPB axed them as clients, given the client-side marketing folks weren't too keen on wearing their hats on sideways.
Who's the bets on Microsoft?
CPBs Nike ad was a disaster... managed to detract from the brand in so many ways that it could actually be used as a "what not to do" example in ad school. Wonder what that one ad cost Nike in the last 13 months both in fees, production and of course lost running business?
Maybe Nike found out that Alex was going to be on the cover of Fast Company? If I'm a client of Crispin, Alex and Alex, I'm wondering why my advertising creative isn't converting customers and why our big checks are helping Alex become the boy genius.
It is news like this that makes me glad I left a job offer at Y&R to eventually go into PR and social media relations at Topaz Partners.
the rumor is that nike's internal group meddled just a bit too much with finished work.....
let me guess...that rumor couldn't possible have been started by CP+B?
