Internet Famous Flock to Digg's Bigg Digg Shindigg
Mark Cuban in the house! Yes, the man, the legend, the dude who said anyone who buys YouTube is a moron was at the Pure Volume Ranch in Austin for Digg's SXSW Bigg Digg Shindigg. Sadly, as I approached my friend, LA Times Blog Editor Tony Pierce, who was talking to Mark, I neglected to snap a picture. I did, however, manage to snap a picture of a pretty girl getting admired by a couple of guys. (Hey, I need some kind of picture to start this story!) Oh but wait, Tony Pierce did get a picture of the man.
Mark might have been the biggest name at this SXSW Interactive Closing party but this party was all about the internet famous who, after geeking out for four days, just needed to have a beer or two...or three or four. Roaming the floor were iJustine's Justine Ezarik, Leah Culver (who I wrote about here), Ariel Waldman (who I convinced to blog which helped net her fame so, yea, I'm taking some credit :-) ), Mahalo Daily's Veronica Belmont and former Technorati Chief Technologist Tantek Celik.
Even the heads of Digg, StumbleUpon and Reddit where all there together posing for a group shot.
Also at the party were the crew from Barbarian Group (which hosted a killer party the night before at the Mohawk), including Eva McCloskey, who was kind enough to take me out to dinner before we headed over the the Digg party. Sally Strebel from Best Party Ever was there along with VML's Tyler Hilker, Lux Alptraum from Boinkolgy and Photrades' Andrew Paradies and Krista Neher.

You forget (or left too early) - Moby showed up around 2am-ish.
Fuck! Well, at least I saw him in his panel earlier in the day. (and yes, I guess I did leave too early...but barely. I must have just missed him)
Moby was there? Clearly I left too early.
Or perhaps not, given that I woke up with no voice left regardless.
Ah yes, the lack of voice in the AM is always an indicator of a good time...or at least a lengthy stay at a along party talking to a lot of people:-) My vocals were pretty damaged as well.
Of course, Moby's a tiny guy. You could have easily missed him. In fact, when I went to his his panel earlier in the day it looked like they had him sitting in some sort of hi-chair:-)
I don't remember admiring the girl... but there I am. must be true.
Funny how cute girls with perfect smiles and perfect teeth will do that to a guy:-)
To make you feel better...I don't even remember taking that pic!
