DDB Creative Director Paul Tilley Dead at 40
Pointless drama aside, Paul Tilley is dead. Paul was the creative director at DDB in Chicago and on Friday he decided to jump out of a Fairmont Hotel window at 6:25 PM, plunging to his death. His death hasn't yet been ruled a suicide and is still under investigation according to the Chicago police.
Whether or not Tilley was a nice man, a bad man, a good boss, a bad boss, a jerk or the most wonderful man in the world, his death is a tragic loss of human life. A loss to DDB. A loss to his family.
MarketingVOX reports Tilley was one of the creatives behind Dell's "Dude, You're Gettin' a Dell" campiagn which was partially responsible for boosting Dell from number four to number one in at-home PC sales. That certainly can't be all bad.
Paul was 40 and leaves behind his wife and two children.

GUYS! Either write a news story or not. I'm a copy writer and don't know who the hell this guy is...but your commentary is kind of gross. "He certainaly can't be all bad." Get a grip on who you are and what you write. You certainaly can't be that important to decide what is "all bad" or not. Hopefully you had good intentions, but the best intention would be to take down your lame article.
You've missed the entire context of this by not following the links and the related stories that have been written about this death. And, you have apparently been sleeping the last three days. This story has been all over the industry from Ad Age to AdWeek to every single ad blog out there. If you can't understand what we're saying, you're sadly out of touch and haven't been reading Adrants very long.
A copy writer who can't spell "certainly"... and I can't get a job?
Steve, you're right. I wish the overly dramatic blogging/agencyspy topic wasn't going on - it's utterly pointless and is needlessly dragging both Paul and agencyspy through a lot of mud.
