VCCP Invites Watchers to Follow 'Neighbours' Elsewhere
So there's this BBC show. It's called Neighbours and it's changing stations to channel Five. To make the transition as smooth as possible, Five tapped VCCP, which came up with this sunny little print and bus campaign.
All the characters are featured in ha-ha-you-love-us! fashion, under intersecting street signs that read "Same Ramsay St." and "New home." We were like, Hey, this looks festive. Neat wallabee.
Then we thought, Why are there so many parrots in this picture? The enigma drove us to Google, where we found this.
Suburban parrot diaspora. Only in the wild and wacky UK -- or, in the case of Neighbours, Australia, apparently.

Guys, Neighbours is an Australian show (hence the koala bear and kangaroo also featured), that's aired in the UK... the 'parrots' are (I think) pink cockatoos.
Get it right!
Cheers
Sarah
Yes... Neighbours is Australian. Those birds are a type of pink cockatoo called a 'galah' - also an insulting term to call someone.
The accents are just a little different!
BTW (Its a koala, not a koala bear... its no bear!)
But I agree with Sarah, the kangaroo should have been a dead giveaway.
all together now..."Neighbors, everybody needs good neighbors!". can't believe that show is still on.
It was never the same after the Kyle and Plain Jane Super Brain years.
Sarah and Dave: ohhhh.
Galahs (the aforementioned pink parrots) are like pigeons in South Australia. They're everywhere.
They even have a 20 ft. statue of one of 'em in Kimba (yes, they have a town called Kimba-and a town called Kevin-but that's another story) in the South Australia outback, about a half day's drive of of Adelaide.
BTW, Neighbors is the show that made Kylie Minogue a star.
