Toy Inspectors Plead Their Case in Consumers Union Video
Sometimes people beg and beg and beg us to write stuff. OK, so they don't beg but they are very persistent. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. Usually it doesn't. But when the persistent person is also a very nice person, their effort has a much better chance of happening as it did in this case. Of course it helps if what we're being asked to look at is actually good...which is the case with this funny video from Consumers Union.
The video is from Consumers Union's Not in my Cart, an organization that focuses on toy safety and advocates for increased diligence in the testing and monitoring imported products as well as legislation to enforce those efforts. In the video, the plight of the toy inspector is examined. Workload has doubled. Inspection staff has been cut. That's a lot of work for th 15 people who have to inspect the 200 million containers of toys tht make their way into American each year.
The video was animated by Powerhouse Animation Studios and the music was created by The Austin Lounge Lizards.

Must have been a really really slow news day! This is Consumer Reports pablum, you know, the publishers who don't trust themselves to take advertising because it might just infect them with greed or something.
this video makes me pretty much want to kill myself.
