OMG!! Agency.com Wins An Account!

We were sure we'd be receiving a press release sometime in the next few months announcing the demise of the ill-fated Agency.com but no. Far from it. Apparently the Subway fiasco is in the past and the mass exodus of management has slowed. And they've decided to win an account. A $100 million account, no less. LG Electronics has awarded creative duties to the shop which is said to consist of TV, interactive, print and guerrilla. Congrats, Agency.com. Break out the fist bumps!

I love how much you hate them.
I wonder if they will start scanning resumes for douche bags to fill the vacant management roles.
I always find it amusing when some one scores a great URL and thinks that enough to start a business with.

what's the story behind the hate for agency.com? i know the subway video was pretty lame, but hardly worth venom. and this LG win is pretty interesting as it is not just for interactive work. i'm wondering if we'll see more of this (digital shops winning lead agency status on large accounts)?

Good for them. A very nice win.

Tom, I think we'll see a lot more of that. It's got to be easier for a creative team at a digital agency to come up with a print campaing (look at most of them, a 5 year old could develop half of the dross I see daily in magazines).

However, it's harder for Old Fashioned agencies to get their head sround the complexities and possibilities of digital platforms.

Of course, non-traditional solution-neutral agencies like mine can easily do both. :)
