Smirnoff Debuts Tea Partay Sequel, 'Boyz N The Hillz'
Perhaps it's because we're squarely East Coast. Perhaps it's because sequels rarely, if ever, surpass the greatness from which they spawn. Perhaps its that we're much more prep at heart than West Coast Whacked. Perhaps it's just that this JWT New York-created Smirnoff Tea Partay sequel, Boyz in the Hillz, simply isn't as good as the original.
Oh sure, it rips West Coast oddities just as the original ripped East Coat preppy life but it doesn't seem to have the wit of the original. Of course, we could be completely wrong and this sequel may go on to garner millions more views than the millions the original achieved. Time will tell. But according to East Coast Tea Partay frontman Prescott, "those West Coast rappers are whacked, yo!"

Perhaps it's because BBH made the first one, and JWT can't keep up
The thought of east coast wealth is just funnier all together. West coast wealth rapping happens all the time, it's not as absurd as the first one. And JWT kinda sucks these days anyway.
First SNL gave us lazy Sunday. which spawned a bunch of youtube responses, the only one that was any good being Lazy Muncie.
Then we had tea partay. OOOOOverrated. Let's face it, white guys rapping just wasn't that original. So I'm not even gonna bother watching this one because if it's not as good as the original, it must suck times 10.
So what's next for smirnoff? Doing a boy-band version a la dick in a box? For the love of all that is holy, please stop.

Yeah, white boys rapping has been around a long time even before 'Lazy Sunday', not to mention the fact that production for Tea Partay was probably already in place by the time that came out.
And you have to say Tea Partay was done well and became very popular for a reason, M.
Before we make this a big BBH nobsucking party, let's remember: Teapartay was just a ripoff of the Boyz in the Hood video by Dynomite Hack.

Glad someone unearthed that one finally, Dean. I'd heard the song on radio but never knew a video existed. Obviously, the agency did.
Damn, that was bad. The original was funny but this suffers from the typical "let's try to do that once again" syndrome.
So lame.
Did JWT forget that the original had energy as well as attitude? And that much of the humor came from the preps playing it (almost) straight?
