Podcasting to Get Boost From Association of Downloadable Media
OK so podcasting has been around for like ever, right? So why haven't all the big brands jumped in? Because big brands don't like the unorganized wild west-like world of the current podcasting space. A new new trade group, the Association for For Downlodable Media hopes to change that bringing organized standards and metrics to podcasting making it easier for standards-loving, established brands to easily jump in.
The organization states "The goal of the ADM is to develop standardization
of audience measurement and advertising for downloadable media. The ADM will focus primarily on the world of podcasting, downloadable media and portable
content monetized by advertising and sponsorship." The organizations won't tread on RIAA's hallowed ground of music downloads.
Consisting of members from Apple Inc.,BlogTalkRadio, Kiptronic, Wizzard Media/LibSyn, NPR, Nielsen Online, Personal Life Media, Inc., Podbridge, PodTech, PodShow, Podtrac, Porter Novelli, Rev3 and Vogele & Associates, ADM hopes to make it easier for publishers, producers, advertisers and their agencies to work seamlessly together. Also in the mix are the technology companies that enable the creation and delivery of downloadable media.
Corporate membership is $1,000 a year and individual membership is $150 a year making it within reach of the thousands of individual podcasters already producing content on a regular basis.
