Nissan SUV Becomes Skateboard, Gets Ridden by Giant
Bucky Turco sends us this very, very cool U.K. commercial for the Nissan Qashqai SUV in which the vehicle is used as a skateboard to demonstrate its agility. A giant-footed person hops on the car and takes it for a spin as if it were an actual skateboard. The results are impressive. We like

uh- jeep did the exact same thing here stateside. a giant robot-person looking thing takes one of those new smaller jeeps for a skateboard ride. it's currently in heavy rotation on major networks.
how are you guys giving props to a UK commercial while overlooking the same concept being executed stateside?
We're not overlooking anything and if you've read us long enough you know we love to feature stuff we like and think is good whether it was created two years ago, yesterday or already done by someone else. But thank you for confirming what we already know about our industry: we love to "borrow" other's ideas.
The Jeep execution is far superior.

similar executions of a concept often surface in short waves on a kind of subconcious level all over the industry. My current favorite is done by the director PES for Sneax shoes!
that's how creativity bubbles in different flavors...i love it. Check it out below

according to adcritic, the spot itself is credited to TBWA/paris... and while it may be pretty similar to the Jeep spot, skating and cars have been pretty popular lately on the whole. Citroen did the whole giant-robot skating last year for the C4, and Audi ran a spot in Germany last year with a TT riding a half-pipe. There are so many ideas out there, it's hard to point fingers - especially with relatively simple concepts. It's more idea sharing than anything - and if it leads to popular spots, I'm all for it.

ah... so the idea of Karl Marx wealth of ideas. This would be great. I shared my ideas freely years ago. I'm not even sure they were so original, but a few people oooed and ahhhhed over them for 5 seconds before they moved on. Then when I wanted one of my ideas back in sharing the fun, some big bad corporation said they owned them anyway.
