OMG! Secret Website to be Embedded in Footlocker Super Bowl Spot
Apparently, Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Garnett will appear in a Footlocker commercial during the Super Bowl. But that's not the news. It seems the folks handling Footlocker want to guarantee viewership of the commercial by embedding a "secret website" address promoting a contest in the spot and telling everyone about it by seeding a "hidden camera" video in which the "secret" is revealed. Oooo. Get your TiVos ready everyone. This one's gonna be a doosey! And, like, no one has ever done this before either so that's what makes this so, sooooo cool!
Rip into this farce with the rest of your industry mates on the Adrants forumor in comments here..

I'm confused. Are we ripping on this just to rip on it, or because we already know it's bad? Because it kind of feels like we're just ripping on it to rip on it.
What's with all the vitriol? Is there a backstory?
Wouldn't it just be easier to pay everyone $5 to watch the ad?
MCBRIDES EGO CONTINUES TO GROW....His ego really is this big.
If your ass-ugly and you know no one wants to take your picture you might as well cast yourself in your own horror flick. This would have been much more viral and frightful if it were just a well-lit photo of him smiling.
So let me get this straight, you're ripping on the spot (that you haven't seen) and providing a link to their "underground" promotion, thus, providing them with additional exposure.
Sounds like you're doing their work for them. I hope they are sending you a big fat check and all the sneakers you could wish for.
You are clown shoes.
to be clear here, you're dissing a brand that actually bothers to make an effort for Super Bowl. i guess whoever did this should've just had farting, flying dogs drinking beer while getting hit by a car in their ads. i'm sure you'd give that a 10 for its brilliance and originality.
Doesn't it sort of defeat the purpose of having a supposedly "secret" video, if in this video, you have to have people conversationally refering to "the big bowl game?"
The believability is killed before it even gets started. That's worth ripping on.
