PUMA Has Hipster Orgasm or Breakthrough Moment of Cool
We can't decide so we're going to ask you to help out. London-based production company created a promotional video for PUMA featuring BBOYS that's making the film festival circuit. We're told it's to support the relaunch of PUMA States. Take a look at it. We're having a hard time deciding whether this is actually something deserving of the label "cool" or if it's just another brand having a hipster orgasm.

The ad makes me dizzy. It also confuses me. The British accent is burdensome after the first few seconds. So to answer your question, Puma is trying to infiltrate the market by the wrong means. The sneaker is a powerful brand already amongst the hipsters. This ad just kind of turns me off, as one of the greatest hipsters/break dancers to ever have lived. WTF am I saying?
Any way, sneaker is cool, ad is lame.
I was so bored after about 15 seconds, I tried to make it stop, and for some reason, the buttons at the bottom left didn't work. So I just closed the window.
Puma is cool now, sure. The original B Boys wrote a song about the footwear they dug it was called "My Adidas"
Duh.
I mean if you're going to go after that memory in our collective past that's the first and only shoe that comes to my mind.
They should just shoot video of the guys going to work these days dressed in high-style pumas to their offices downtown (everyone in Chicago) instead of dressing like they're actually going to work. That would be a more interesting commentary on current society.
That was pretty terrible. I had to go snuggle my macintosh for a bit to feel better afterwards.
Seriously, talk about copy-paste culture. The whole thing stank of multimedia clipart. And the music was tired 10 secs in. Ugh.
