VW, Slash Get Together, Give Away Guitars
At this rate, there will be approximately 116 Volkswagen commercials floating around by next year if Crispin keeps up its current pace. In this next outing, Volkswagen has partnered with guitar maker First Act in a promotion called V-dubs rock to give everyone who purchases a particular model with a guitar that features a seat belt as the strap and a plug that lets you tap into the vehicle's audio system. To show it all in action, former Guns N Roses guitarist Slash - now with Velvet Revolver - rocks out. Not that everyone wants a guitar but it's still a nice promotion all the same.

That is the most worthless car commercial I have ever seen!!!!!!!!
VW owners listen to Dave Mathews. This should have been a Dodge Ram commercial. Then we could get rid of that "You got a Hemi in there" once and for all.
VW is finally starting to do typical Detroit car ads

My son saw this commercial last night and I explained, "The car has a jack so you can play your guitar through it."
To which he responded, "So you can play guitar while driving!"
Yes...exactly.
Like the bud vase in the newer VW Beetles, gimmicks are not cool things on cars.
A close-up of Slash's guitar reveals the VW symbol embedded in the fretboard. What self-respecting guitarist would advertise a VW on his guitar? (Or appear in a VW ad, come to think of it.)
This may, however, bring a whole new meaning to the term "garage band."
Way to get fired up about play on wordss Jetpack.
I think it's going to be a long long time before
VW comes back to earth, Rocketman.
Whatever, haters. Slash is still cooler than everyone who reads this blog combined. He's self-respecting all the way to the bank.
Cheers, Alex. I bought a Ford Explorer once and got some crappy Eddie Bauer luggage. I'd definitely have preferred a guitar.

The fanboy hath spoken. Twice. We got it the first time.
Slash rocks. Great commercial. Nice car. It's all good.
This promotion will be huge! The 18-34 caucasian demographic loves electric guitars!
