42Below Held Its Cocktail World Cup
This past weekend, New Zealand vodka maker 42Below held its its 42Below Cocktail World Cup.which took place in the mountains of Queenstown New Zealand and involved bungee jumping, rafting at 80 MPH and sliding down snow covered mountains all while mixing drinks. It's yet another way the cheeky vodka maker has a bit of fun while, at the same time, gaining some publicity. For the event, 42 bartenders from around the world battled it out. Winners will be named September 16 at the Cocktail World Cup Finals.
From the release, "The USA's East Coast is represented by Greg Seider from Standard Hotel in Miami, Gerry Graham from Smith & Wollensky in Miami and Randolph Karagdag from Olives at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. The West Coast is represented by Tess Parker from 40 Deuce in Los Angeles, Michael Grajewski from Memphis Lounge in Los Angeles and Manny Garcia from Onyx Bar at the Red Rock in Las Vegas.
The 42 contestants will be judged by an international panel of experts, including Peter Dorelli, head barman at the Savoy for more than 40 years; Alex Kammerling, London's hottest celebrity mixologist and BBC star; top Hollywood producer and 42 BELOW board member Rich Frank and New York Times writer Mark Ellwood."
