Vespa Leverages High Gas Prices In Campaign

vespa_1_150.jpg

New York's Ad Store has launched a new campaign for Piaggio USA's Vespa scooters. The campaign consists of outdoor ads which explain the merits of owning a Vespa when gas prices are sky high. Ad headlines include "Relieves Gas Pains", "When in New York, do as the Romans do", and "Don't be a gas-hole." See all the creative here.

"Relives Gas Pains?" Didn't Volkswagon use that exact same line back in the 70s?

VW has used that gas pains line several times over the years.

I say good on them, its a good position that given the high oil prices around the world will translate well in a number of countries.
and agree that VW hs done it before.

I think they're pretty cool. And smart. And I think "gas-hole" should become part of the vernacular -- especially towards SUVs
