Spoof Ad Claims Hummer Powered by Blood

hummer_blood_ad.jpg

Flickr user Dave Ward has created a second spoof Hummer ad, this time, referencing the notion that blood shed in Iraq is only to support America's oil requirements. Needless to say, GM won't like this.

Here's a less political yet far more on-target spoof from Tian.

Ok, this really bothers me. I hate SUVs as much as the next guy, but why don't people do this kind of thing for Porsche or Ferrari? High performance cars and the bigger Mercedes, BMW, Audi cars get equally bad gas mileage. And depending on the town you live in, these high-end cars are more as prevalent than SUVs. This type of commentary is myopic and makes the commentator look foolish. It keeps people from thinking about the real issues. City zoning by-laws, for starters.

Blood in the gas tank? Give me a break. If you demand that consumer goods made with petroleum are affordable and that fresh vegetables and fresh fruit won't cost you a lot then you are as much of the problem as the SUV epidemic. How the hell do you think things get to the store? How are grains and vegetables harvested and processed? SUVs aren't the problem. How we consume is the problem. Think before you speak.
