AdPulp points to a billboard for shopping site Bloom which shows a pan of muffins, out of which, one has fallen and crushed a car beneath. Now that's creative!
That might be creative. But to what end? How does that sell muffins? This kind of "cute" advertising is ineffective and passe'.

How do you know it's ineffective, SpaceMonkey?

It'll get people talking. When was the last time anyone talked to you about muffins? Or more specifically a brand of muffins?

yeah. that is an amazing ad.

I never said it was. I said it was creative. There's a difference.

I'm confused. Was this an accident or was it staged? If it was planned, it has to rank as one of the bests ads ever. But I doubt it was set up, because I would think that smashing a car would be very expensive.

Does anyone know who did this board? Or where it is?

I have a master's degree in advertising from Michigan State University. That's how I know.

Pam, I assume an agency out of Charlotte called Boone/Oakley was behind this billboard. They have the Bloom account.
Point of order, Steve: You doubted SpaceMonkey's assertion that the billboard was effective. It is therefore logical to assume that you think it is. If you are questioning SpaceMonkey's claim, it is only fair to question yours as well.
The prosecution rests its case.

Yes Boone/Oakley did the board. The smashed car is part of the board (notice how it is parked on the grass). Sounds like they planted the car there for a week with a "for sale" sign and then one night crushed it with a muffn. Great stuff!

I've heard of going down on a muffin in a car, but a muffin going down on a car...that's news!
