Paris Hilton Says 'Think Different'
Putting things in perspective and dramatically altering the meaning of the latest Carl's Jr. commercial featuring Paris Hilton, comes this altered voice over version of the spot with Richard Dreyfus reading Apple's "Here's to the Crazy Ones." While listening, the spot takes on an entirely different meaning. In some cases, it pegs Paris is a true idiot. In others, it creates a sense of pity for someone who has clearly lost their way. Originally, the intent of the Apple message was meant to be complimentary to those who think different and change the world in a positive manner. Yet, when voiced to Paris frolicking with a Bently and a Burger, it leaves one overcome with sadness and disgust with respect to the state of our culture.

God, that's good.
Truth be told, despite being quite an Apple aficionado, I always really hated that "Think Different" campaign... just in the sense that were they still alive, I could never imagine Gandhi or Cesar Chavez hawking computers (well, anything, really). People blew gaskets over Fred Astaire dancing with a Hoover, but I never remember anyone getting bent out of shape over that campaign.
Great damn spot.
Fred Astaire dancing with a Hoover with great advertising, who are you kidding? ;)
Every time I see that ad, I throw up a little. I would pay good money to see the outtakes, though!
Expect a law suit from Apple's legal sparrows. His Lord Steveness of Jobs is not known for his humor when folks fuck with his brand. I once read a story that he cried when Chiat Day first showed him the original Think Different spot. Mawkish sentimental shite if you ask me - and I'm a Mac bigot!
to be honest, i didnt get much out of this version with the voiceover. at least nothing that made paris look worse than she already does.

I agree with Dario. There is nothing in it that makes Paris look worse that she already does.I think your reaching on this one.
But then, I also think Paris is getting what she wants and so is her audience.
Her ass also looks huge (though not uninviting) from behind. We'd all do her wouldn't we?
It's a work of art if you ask me.
Whatever feelings you have for Paris are amplified when you see this spot. Puritans sees the sadness of a lonely girl loosing herself in the whirlwind she has created. Hilton-fans sees it as a confirmation of the fact that she is really pushing things - forward.
It's in the eye of the beholder.
On a somewhat related note, I was in London in late April and was having a late night drinkie in the hotel bar.....when in walks the narrator of the ad we're talking about.....with what can only be described as a Russian lady of the night. She had a dirty martini and he had a diet coke (obviously he'd been thru re-hab etc). Dirty old man.
Yeah cool! For more dissin' of Ms. Hilton see this take on the Car'l's Jr. Burger
ad. I found it on the
contageous media site.
I don't follow that stupid cows antics so am oblivious to what her daddy thinks of her antics.....surely he must be more than a little humiliated by it all....the mans a conservative bore...
THAT's hot!
Thanks for posting about my Paris remix!
