MindShare Works Hard For Your Money

mindshare_work_money.jpg

This is just cheesy enough to be great. Mindshare Amsterdam has created an in-office video set to the tune of the 1983 Donna Summer hit We Work Hard For Your Money. With lyrics like "planning various strategies, buying loads of GRPs, "Group M is the name. Buying power is our game," "We work hard for your money, Reach people with your money. Build brands with your money so give us your money. your investment will return."

We have no idea how new or old this is but this lyric, "Our goal is to tell the products we tell. Bling bling is what we want," places it at least within the last few years or so.

UPDATE: According to mf in comments the video was created for the European MindShare-conference 'Fame & Money' in Barcelona last month.

I coulda died happier without ever seeing that...

That was physically painful to watch.

Execrable. If I were a prospective client I'd run for the exit.

On the other hand, one must salute the degree of restraint that was obviously necessary to do the song "straight."

Hey, it even says underneath the video. The original is from Donna Summers from 1983.
Nice video.
And just think about all those poor employees who had to perfom to this thing, which turned out nice but must have sounded like the stupidist thing when whoever had the initial idea...

The video was a co-production of MindShare Amsterdam and Brand New Telly Industries for the European MindShare-conference 'Fame & Money' in Barcelona last month. According to Brand New Telly the video has been downloaded more than 63,000 times.

I'm sure we can expect more of this cheesy drivel until media companies start to hire some creative talent to help them out.

63,000 dowloads is indeed impressive. But don't forget that 46 million people also go to McDonalds every day.

63,000... Hmmm... WPP has circa 10,000 employees and they all have family and friends. Plus some blurbs on a few blogs here and there and that number isn't so impressive after all.
And btw, neither was the video. Distinctively unimpressive to be exact.
And who was the line "Give us your money." referring to? Brand New Telly or Mindshare?

Actually WPP has more than 85,000 employees.
