PR Blather Speak
It's absolutely amazing the crap institutions will dish out to distance themselves from something they should have dealt with head on in the first place:
In any situation where something unusual may have occurred and there is no harm to an individual, if the person is progressing normally, we wouldn't talk to the individual around that aspect. When we knew it was going to become public record, we felt that it was important that the patient hear it from us.
From Mount Auburn Hospital spokesman Michael McConnell, on why the hospital waited four weeks to tell a patient that his surgeon left him on the operating table for 35 minutes to visit a bank to deposit a check.
Do institutions realize how stupid this sounds once it is out of there mouths?
