Whopper Virgins Taste Test Ramps Up, Ravages the Developing World

Crispin’s global conquest project for Burger King, where it scours the world in pursuit of “Whopper Virgins,” is in full swing. Idle TV-trawling exposed us to taste test teasers in both Thai and Transylvanian villages.

First World folk far and wide are invited to gawk and take notes: will backwater townsfolk that never had a burger — indeed, that “don’t even HAVE A WORD for ‘burger’!” — prefer the Whopper to the Big Mac?

The results are anybody’s guess (is complete apathy an option?), but if I were Count Dracula I’d be pretty pissed about fat-ass America bringing its domestic meat-patty disputes onto my turf.

Provided it doesn’t spark a Twitter-organized riot of global proportions and can recover from Whopper Virgin’s mixed reviews, Crispin may be looking at a little award love. Last year’s documentary-style Whopper Freakout — which set the stage nicely for this effort — won accolades at both the Clios and One Show.

On the other hand, it was also less distasteful.
