Understanding of Differing Values Central to HSBC Commercial

It’s not often a bank commercial comes close to bringing a tear to the eye but this HSBC commercial comes close to doing so. Following the drama between a couple, one a lumberjack, the other a tree hugger, the commercial dramatizes the couple’s differing beliefs and they struggle through a protest. Dividing as the issue can be, at the end of the day, they manage to go home loving one another.

HSBC twists the drama into its recognition of people’s differing values and how that recognition helps them better serve customers. One might argue that notion is a bit of a stretch but the commercial is so engaging it almost doesn’t matter. You want to believe HSBC really does care about their customers as much as people care about their differing values.

JWT London created the commercial.
