Spoof meets the big-leagues in this trailer for Under the Same Moon, a Hispanic-American film with a title so sappy it could itself be a spoof.
The trailer pulls the sympathy card with child star Adrian Alonso while mocking Lou Dobbs, whom HuffPo dubbed “CNN’s anti-immigrant crusader.”
Our favourite line: “Time Magazine raves that ‘Adrian Alonso could melt Lou Dobbs’ heart, if he had one.” Heh-heh-heh.
The spot is set to air on CNN today in LA, NYC, Chicago, SF and Washington, DC. Let’s hope people get it, because the whole thing feels a little inside-jokey. Just because Dobbs is on the network doesn’t mean everybody knows who he is. But hey, maybe it’ll generate mass Dobbs googlage, followed by mass Dobbs outrage, followed by BOX! OFFICE! ENTHUSIASM!
