Threadless Plugs Twitter Tees with TweetPR

Threadless is developing a crowdsourced line of tees with statements from Twitter. Users can enter any tweet for inclusion; the best tweets are voted on by the community and ultimately turned into shirts.

More exciting than the crowdsourced chest manifestos, however, was the PR, which Threadless decided to limit to 140 characters:

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) May 19, 2009 — @Threadless to crowdsource #TwitterTees. @Biz says “Awesome!” https://thrdl.es/~/R

Isn’t that the most beautiful pressie you’ve ever seen?!!

But back to the meat of the matter. Four tweets were immortalized in cotton to commemorate the launch:

o “I’m huge on Twitter” by @xenijardin
o “140 is the new 420” by @mutgoff
o “In space no one can hear you Tweet” by @LouisTrapani
o “It’s the messaging system that we didn’t know we needed until we had it” by @Biz, who actually said that instead of tweeting it. Ironic, given that he’s one of Twitter’s co-founders.

Shirts go for $18 a pop. You could probably get cheaper ones made in bulk at your local airbrusher, which might even toss in a free Low Rider graphic, but oh, then you wouldn’t be all social and tech.
