“Cactus is responsible for the concept and copy, and FL-2 is responsible for the design, development and programming of the site.” Wait, what? Did an ad agency just admit another company helped them created something? Have we actually reached the point where ego-centric, attention-whoring agencies are ready to admit they simply don’t have the expertise in-house to do all they claim to be able to do? Halle-fn’-lujah!
Yes, it’s true and Colorado-based Cactus should be commended for their honesty. All too often (we’re looking at you Crispin, Leo Burnett and others) agencies want all the glory for themselves so, in turn, they can appear to be heroic in front of their clients. Surely, some of this is harmless oversight but at times, it reaches epidemic proportions.
Anyway, this new Cactus/FL-2-created The Cigarette Is Dead campaign is for the Colorado State Tobacco Education & Prevention Partnership and consists of wild postings, videos, outdoor, online, banners, murals, television and college outreach programs.
It’s one of those all-inclusive, join-the-conversation, social media style campaigns that everyone is so fond of these days. This one is kinda good. Except for the fact every pice of creative is annoyingly in pdf format.
