Looks like we’re in for some more legal wranglings over agency naming. Minneapolis agency Ryan Partnership is changing its name to RPM Connect to “better reflect the firm’s expertise in retail and shopper marketing.” After the drama over We Are Gigantic and Gigantic Marketing, one has to wonder what JWT’s RMG Connect is going to have to say about this one.
Perhaps this “borrowing” is RPM Connect’s thing. After visiting their website, it appears they’ve also grabbed that five pronged orange thing some cell phone company used a while back before it was sucked up in a merger which, of course, probably makes it all OK now.
For a company that is supposed to be all about connecting brands with consumers, they seem a bit disconnected when it comes to pre-name change due diligence.
