Montel’s Daughter Promotes Vegetarian Cafeteria Options

If the children of celebrity chanteurs can draw a crowd to a promo, why not the children of celebrity talk show hosts?

In an ad slated to debut tonight during ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager, 14-year-old Wyntergrace Williams will urge Congress to amend the Child Nutrition Act to require the inclusion of vegetarian options in school lunch lines.

Not a bad idea when we recall what our options were. Learn more about the push at healthyschoollunches.org.

Dubbed “School Lunch Revolution,” the spot was produced by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), which quotes a recent Opinion Research Corp. poll that found over 80% of Americans feel vegetarian meals should be available in schools to kids that want them.

In the event you have no idea who Wyntergrace Williams is, she’ll remind you with an adorable aw-shucks grin: “You know my dad — Montel?”
