The title track from Madonna’s new ‘American Life’ CD is being made available for download via the Internet as an MP3 file for $1.49.

I think were going to see more and more artists approach the selling of their music this way in the future, said Michael Paoletta, an editor at Billboard magazine. This is only the beginning of what will become a major way to get the music out there, to get the music heard, to in essence sell the music to the consumer.
