Johnson’s Lotion, Blind Adoration Are Key to Mother/Child Bonding

johnsons-baby-touch.jpg

To promote what it calls its “iconic baby lotion,” Johnson launched Touching Bond to encourage moms to get touchier with their babies. Glean advice on making “your touch more touching,” massaging your baby, and capturing its giggle.

A warning from us about raising a baby with the healing power of shiatsu:

Mom got all massagey with our youngest baby sister (age difference: 13 years). By the time she was five, when mom was too busy and disillusioned for the hour-long rub-down, she’d walk up to us in her little terry bathrobe and say, “It is time for my massage.” Then she would set her foot on our knee and glare expectantly, as if we had nothing better to do besides knead her knot-free muscles.

We still haven’t undone the traumatic effects of Uberconfident Toddler. So beware overly generous application of the Touching Bond.

If you’re seriously worried about screwing up the bundle of joy, there are owners manuals now. Best of all, they lack a lotion bias.
