In Case You Missed It, Hilary Has Her Own Obama Girl

Released in early July, we apparently missed this video featuring Taryn Southern gushing about Hillary Clinton Obama Girl-style. Offering to be Hilary’s Oval Office maid or White House aid, Southern sings, “let’s seal the deal with a hug and a kiss and put a hot chick in the Oval Office. And bringing on the lesbian vibe, Southern continues, “I know you’re not gay but I’m hoping for bi.”

While some might initially find it a bit odd that, after slinging all sorts or double entendres sexual and otherwise, the video then features a school room full of children singing. “If we all had to Hil up on the Hill…” But there’s no need to worry. The whole thing is a parody and even the parents of the kids in the video were made aware of the content as explained by Taryn, who wrote on her blog, “The kids – yes, the kids and their parents were all aware of the video content. Just like any other PG-13 movie, TV show, or web video with sexual innuendos, child actors and their folks are always aware of the content before they sign on. Working with all the kids was my favorite part about making the video!”

It’s not as good as th Obama Girl video series but, then again, it was simply meant to poke fun at the whole thing. This election season is certainly turning out to be a very different one with candidates – knowlingly or unknowingly – being portrayed as characters far removed from the stiffness of presidential yesteryear. Silly as it is, it’s refreshing to see these alternative approaches to encouraging political involvement among those who’ve, for the most part, given up on the process with complete disinterest.

Girls in bikinis. Booty shaking street fights. Salacious seductiveness. Hardly a routine election year. And that’s a very good thing.

Psychology says the freedom that childless couples experience in midlife carries a hidden cost. Without the natural structure that children impose on time, weekends, holidays, and decades, they must generate their own sense of purpose continuously, and that ongoing act of self-creation is both the privilege and the exhaustion nobody warns them about.
