To promote a marathon of The Discovery Channel’s top shows, CA Square put together “Best of Discovery,” a montage of clips where men get slapped, crocs are wraastled bare-handed, bugs get eaten live, and things are inevitably blown up.

Also, I’m pretty sure somebody got struck by lightning.

In his sauciest, most vigorous key, the narrator promises “more thrills, more explosions, more dirt … more INSANITY.” Curious? The marathon kicked off this week. No worries if you missed anything; it lasts for 13 days.

Psychology says the reason some people become warmer and more approachable after 60 while others become harder isn’t random — it’s that grief either opens people or seals them, and the ones who let loss soften them instead of sharpen them develop a quality that can’t be faked, which is the visible evidence of someone who survived something and chose tenderness over armour

Nobody prepares you for the loneliness of being the last person alive who remembers your mother’s voice, your childhood kitchen, or the sound your father made when he laughed. You become the sole archive of a world that ended, and there’s no one left to verify that any of it happened.
