George Bush, Al Pacino, Donald Trump Hawk DISH Network

These are really, really bad! No, wait, these are really, really good! No wait….damn it, we’re conflicted about this new DISH Network work sent to us from Fueld (yes, that’s spelled correctly) Films. In the three commercials, comedian Frank Caliendo takes on the personas of Al Pacino, Donald Trump and George Bush. He does a fairly good job but we’re not sure these commercials sold us anything.

We haven’t run to the phone to sign up for DISH. We haven’t raced to the DISH Network website to check out their offering. No. We’re still just sitting here deciding if we should be amused or guilty for not at least caring what DISH was offering in the commercials. Then again, we do have a mild case of ADD so we’re no judge on this sort of “retention” thing.

Oh, and who the hell puts up videos that require the download of the Windows Media Plug-in for Firefox? Every other site out there with video seems to manage just fine without this added headache. Thankfully, the videos were sent to us so we could upload them to a “normal” video site where you can watch them without having to download yet another browser plug-in.

Psychology says adults who describe themselves as socially awkward aren’t lacking a skill — they’re often people who never learned to perform inauthenticity smoothly enough to pass, who find small talk genuinely difficult not because they have nothing to say but because they can’t quite make themselves say things they don’t mean, and in a world that runs on social performance that specific form of honesty looks, from the outside, exactly like a deficit
