Doritos Wants to Be Synonymous with UGC

doritos-hair.jpg

Surprise, surprise. Doritos.co.uk has made a YouTube channel for people who want to make their own Doritos ads. My favourite was the one put together by the Doritos staff. It’s called “Hair” and it reminds me of a My Little Pony doll I used to have.

It was this pretty awesome plastic pony whose mane you could make grow by pulling it, which would shorten its tail. (Genius!) You could make the tail grow back by pulling on that, which would (of course!) shorten its mane. I lost so many hours that way.

But back to the matter at hand. Doritos’ campaign slogan is, aptly, “We make it, you play it.” Looks like it’s gonna be swinging from that one for awhile. Join the Facebook group if you want, and check out the last instance where Doritos whored itself out to the body public.
