Diddy Lied to Us. Taco Bell Sets Record Straight.

Chris Applebaum is probably best known for the videos he’s done for extra-extra artists like Britney Spears and Rihanna. In “It’s All about the Roosevelts,” he slums it up for Taco Bell, but doesn’t stray too far from his trashy pop roots.

The statement “It’s All about the Roosevelts” riffs off Diddy’s It’s All About the Benjamins,” a track from a year we’re too embarrassed to look back on and that plays on Benjamin Franklin’s appearance on the $100 bill. NOTE: The music is all original.*

Franklin Roosevelt, on the other hand, adorns the front of dimes — the currency Taco Bell’s campy pop band is trying to get you to drop in exchange for tortilla-ensconced ground beef. If TB’s pleather-clad background dancers so incline you, “drop them dimes” — but hell, drop enough of them for tacos, you’ll probably lose a few dimes you didn’t mean to.

The video will appear online and also precedes Transformers 2 in theatres. Wish we could’ve seen that audience reaction. We’re guessing stunned silence, followed by awkward laughter. That’s just the effect low riders have on people.
