Chemistry.com Continues Attack on Homophobic eHarmony

Chemistry.com has launched a follow up to its Hanft Raboy and Partners-created Come as you Are campaign with two new print ads attacking eHarmony’s apparent refusal to allow gays and those who choose to have premarital sex to match using its dating service. It’s long been reported eHarmony Founder Dr. Neil Clark Warren is a fairly evangelical Christian who has made his beliefs known regarding gays, lesbian and other things not “perfectly Christian.”

There will always be people who believe in different things and it is their right to do so. It’s also the right of that person to run a business the way he sees fit. Though when those operational methods and beliefs become discriminatory, it can get troublesome. As each year passes, what some would dub “alternative lifestyles” become more and more the norm.

One hundred years ago, the thought of homosexuality would be cause to ostracize a person if the matter was even discussed. Who’s to say in a hundred years bestiality won’t become as common place as homosexuality is today? It’s all a matter of culture, shifting moral and generational changes. To us, it seems eHarmony is fighting a losing battle. There are too many people who think homosexuality and premarital sex are OK than there are those that don’t. Chemistry.com’s campaign is in touch with that changing sentiment.
