Carlos Mandelbaum Gets Wasted

carolos_stoned.jpg

In the continuing saga of Carlos Mandelbaum and his insightful take on the state of marketing today, his latest outing examines the fantasy life of corporate managers. Mandelbaum ponders the penchant of corporate managers to fantasize they are warriors or mystics or…students getting all philosophical and intellectual by enjoying mind-expanding lectures by really cool professors…like the dude that did those weird UPS whiteboard ads.

And like all the balloons Mandelbaum has popped before, the fantastical oddity of ego-fueled corporate managers who believe their companies are somehow more than their pedestrian reality is given the full cannabis treatment.

Yea, it’s like being in one of those three hour long, marathon presentations where you’re on slide number 247 and, suddenly, the room starts to spin, you get dizzy and you wonder just what the fuck you’re doing there and who the hell that idiot is speaking some foreign language and pointing to graphs and charts that look like they were barfed up by some kindergartner after sniffing the Elmer’s glue.
