BBH Cleans Up at Webbys
BBH was named Webby Agency of the Year by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences which announced the winners of The 16th Annual Webby Awards. Webby and People's Voice winners will be honored at the annual ceremony, hosted by Patton Oswalt, on Monday, May 21, 2012, at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom.
BBH snagged 9 Webby wins for their work on 4 different ground projects including Google Music, Google Chrome's Dear Sophie campaign and Asos Urban Tour.
Other agencies that received multiple honors include Wieden+Kennedy (7), DDB (5), AKQA (3), BBDO (3), 72andSunny (3), and Blue State Digital (3).
The Webby Awards are voted on by members IADAS including R/GA founder Bob Greenberg, AKQA creative chief Rei Animoto and Suzanne Applebaum. The Webby People's Voice Awards are voted on by the online public. Nearly 1.5 million votes were cast from 207 different countries this year.

Best Use of Augmented Reality Webby Winner: Akestam Holst for "The Sound of Football" - An augmented reality app created for the Pepsi Refresh campaign that helps blind people to "hear the sound" of football, enabling them to gain the ability to play.
Best Use of Augmented Reality Webby People's Voice Winner: Space150 for "Model Pick Up" - An interactive billboard for Forever 21 in Times Square that features virtual models interacting with passersby.
Best Use of Social Media Webby Winner: Projector Inc. for "The Museum of Me" - An interactive online application created for Intel that takes users through a visual archive of their lives based on data and images from Facebook.
Best Use of Social Media People's Voice Winner: Wieden + Kennedy for "Mano a Mano in el BaƱo" - International model and icon Fabio embarked on a quest to become the new Old Spice Guy, debuting his very own Old Spice ads touting the Old Spice Fresh Collection on TV, online, through social media and elsewhere.
Branded Content Webby Winner: Vice Media - Virtue Worldwide for "The Creators Project" - A global celebration of art and technology created in partnership with Intel that supports and unites artists from across the globe.
Branded Content Webby People's Voice Winner: 72andSunny for "KSwiss" - Kenny Powers, champion athlete and shoe endorser, completes a hostile takeover of K-Swiss and uses it as a platform to totally hump the sports world into submission.
Corporate Social Responsibility Webby and Webby People's Voice Winner: Wieden+Kennedy for "Nike Back for the Future- A web film starring Bill Hader, Christopher Lloyd, Tinker Hatfield, Donald Fullilove and Kevin Durant about the most famous shoes never made, in an effort to support the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research.
Online Guerilla & Innovation Webby Winner: Tool for "Take This Lollipop" - An interactive application available through Facebook Connect that shocked users by exposing the amount of information that they have made publicly available through Facebook.
Online Guerilla & Innovation Webby People's Voice Winner: Dudums for "Birds on Twitter" - An experiment from Latvia that gave Twitter back to the original tweeters, the birds.
