Disney Uses Bananas to Promote 'The Jungle Book' DVD

banana_jungle_book.jpg

Adrants reader Adam Silverthorne writes to tell us about some advertising he saw on a banana he bought this morning. While isn't altogether new, the tie in is brilliant. The ad is for Disney's The Jungle Book DVD. Complete with image of a monkey (chimpanzee?), the ad gets points for relevancy.

Thats great advertising. Matching up a character/ movie to a product is always effective.

Same on my bananas. Absurd.

Actually, this was used to promote the Curious George movie with Will Ferrell about two years ago. I still got the banana labels here on my wall:
- Curious George pulling a rabbit out of a hat
- CG with a fire helmet and a fire hydrant
- CG making a funny face at me

The image is not a monkey or a chimpanzee- it's an orang-utan, as you would know if you have read the book or watched the movie!

Don't you advertising types know anything?
The image is not a monkey or a chimpanzee- it's an orang-utan and he is called King Louie!
